J. C. Howard

John Curwen Howard, II

A life long resident of Marshall, aside from a few stints in Chicago, John Curwen Howard, II has been drawing for much of that time. He briefly studied art and art education at University before leaving to fulfill more creative pursuits. Mr. Howard is a story-teller at heart and uses his art to that end as evidenced by the cult favorite (if not critically acclaimed) comic series, Four Days ‘til Friday and The Adventures of Vapor which were published by the Marshall Advocate in the early 2000’s. Since that time
Mr. Howard has been the proud creator of many (as yet unrecognized) comics and happily spends his days, pencil in hand, at his offices at 921Studios.

JC’s creative work will be on display along with Bill Allen and Scott Payne at the Gaslight Art Colony.  Their Opening Reception will be Saturday March 20 from 6-9 pm.  Be sure to come meet John, Bill and Scott and see how their creative minds and hands work.

The Gaslight Art Colony is located at 516 Archer Avenue, and is a not-for-profit organization.  For more information about hours of operation, classes, events, or becoming a member of the Colony, please be sure to visit our website at www.gaslightartcolony.com, or call Jo Rich at 217-826-5461.
