Ruth Ann thoroughly enjoyed art classes at Eastern and graduated from there in 1970 with a B. S. in Education with an art education certification. In 1970 she started teaching art at the Chrisman, Illinois schools in grades kindergarten -12. In 1992, she received a Master's Degree from Indiana State University in Curriculum and Instruction with advanced art classes. Then in 1994, she completed advanced course work in Educational Administration at Eastern Illinois University.In 2003 Ruth Ann retired from teaching art in the Chrisman Schools and is thoroughly enjoying retirement and being able to work in her studio at home. "I have always enjoyed creating 3-dimensional art, especially ceramics, sculpture, weaving, and jewelry. My art work tends to be focused on the fiber arts, especially art quilts. I am influenced by nature and the out of doors. I like to use bright colors and play with textures in my quilts."
Ruth Ann Sheehy lives on a farm north of Paris, with husband Joe. They have three children, Brian (Natalie), Cory (Anne) who lives in Marshall, and Erin, and four grandchildren. She also enjoys camping and trail riding their horses.
