Mitch Miller

October Premier to Feature Mitch Miller

The Gaslight Art Colony is proud to announce that Mitch Miller will be showing his work this month. Mitch's work has been in galleries all over the United States as well as in Switzerland, London, Italy, & China. Mitch will be flying in from Colorado to attend the opening and be available for discussion and questions. Don't miss this amazing opportunity to see Mitch and his work! The opening will be Saturday, October 15th from 6-9 pm CST.

Mitch Miller has recently moved his studio from Brooklyn, NY to Bobcat Mountain in Colorado. With a few million acres of Roosevelt National Forest as his backyard, Mitch has plenty of room to devise and conduct experiments that rely on processes of Natural Selection.

He earned degrees in Biology and Art from the University of Colorado in 1997. After finishing his MFA from the University of Kansas, Mitch moved to New York in 2000. His first project in the city was to convert Show World in Times Square from a strip club into an art center. Show World became a meeting place where Mitch made alliances with the Scope International Art Fair and Socrates Sculpture Park.

He received grants from Scope and Socrates that allowed him to build his first public sculptures in 2004. His work with Scope opened the doors for many group and a few solo shows at galleries around the world. After the EAF show at Socrates, one of Mitch's drawings was included in a White Columns exhibit that subsequently traveled around the world. Socrates also recommended Mitch to Brooklyn College to teach Sculpture. He taught undergraduate and graduate students there until leaving for Colorado in 2010.

When Mitch is not on Bobcat Mountain he can be found at the gallery he and a friend are running in Niwot, Colorado.
