Davidson was born in Middletown, OH, has no recollection of it, and hasn't been back since. She landed in Marshall Illinois and finds herself quite content. She travels often to visit children and grandchildren and go out searching for treasures.

She had a strong interest in art as a child. She could often be found making portraits from penny tracings and ink from wild elderberries. She is a "Woodsie" girl and graduated from St. Mary of the Woods with a BS in Education. She also received her Master's in Educational Leadership from Eastern Illinois University. Her parochial classroom was always a place of wonder that encouraged children to learn through exploration and creativity. Nature is our classroom.

Julie moved on from education and incorporates the same atmosphere and logic in her local downtown studio, Fried Green Tomatoes. A hint of adventure takes hold as you shop through her found treasures, plants and art. Exploration is encouraged through terrarium building, jewelry making, and pottery classes.

Pottery classes...We're getting ahead of ourselves. Julie took her first pottery class at Gaslight Art Colony in 2018? The instructor was Jack Davidson. The moment her hands touched the clay she was hooked. Even though Jack would exclaim that she glazed her pieces like she was swatting flies. She continued this found passion and has two kilns and now an Art Show.

Davidson's main objective is to continue to create through realism with a whimsical flair. While a principal at St. Mary's School in Paris, Illinois, Julie worked on the school's mission statement. She then decided she needed to create a mission statement for her own life; Promoting Generations of Excellence. She still loves to teach and to focus on individual growth through collaboration with others and to be a lifelong learner through exploration and creativity.
